Citytrips, Cyclones & moving on

Hello hello,
Another update!! Life from Perth!!!
Yes I left Onslow yesterday and flew to Perth. I worked in Onslow for 3 months and it was enough. It was time to move on, find a new adventure. Now I left Onslow it feels like I came back to the real world. Onslow felt like a big bubble, where you don't really notice what goes on outside of that bubble. It was good, I really enjoyed my time there and working at the pub, but it feels so good to end that chapter and start a new one! 

A few weeks ago Jenna and I drove to Karratha. That was the closest town, 3,5 hours away haha, so weird to imagine that that's the life there! So we left early in the morning, arrived at the shoppingmall and had a Big mac!!!!! My first big mac sinceeee june last year!! It was good to be somewhere outside of onslow for a change and it was good to do some shopping! At the end of the day we had to drive back. We filled up the tank and left, but when we were about an hour away from Onslow I saw the tank was almost empty!! Aaaahhhhhh and there are seriously no gasstations anywhere. In the 3,5hour we drove, we passed only 2 and that's it! Haha so Jenna and I were pretty scared that we were gonna run out of gas in the middle of nowhere. We also didn't see any cars for a while, so we decided to drive superslow to save fuel hahah can't believe that happened! But thank god we made it!!!!! 

Since a few weeks I've been eating fish! Yea really!! I eat fish! And I'm really liking it as well!! It taste good! So when Cain invited me over for homemade fish that he caught himself I couldn't say no!! He made me parrotfish and crayfish(lobster) hell yea I ate lobster. I didn't really like it tho, I think that was still a little bit too fishy for me. But who knew that I was gonna enjoy eating fish!!! Yaaay!

It's cyclone season in Western Australia (Onslow) at the moment. A few months ago there was a cyclone coming our way, so everyone prepared for the cyclone, but it never arrived. So when they said there was another cyclone coming, I didn't really take it seriously. But when the cyclone warning was on the news and everyone was getting ready for the cyclone I started to get excited! My first cyclone!! It was just gonna be a category 2 cyclone, so that's just like a storm in The Netherland haha but it got rough. The day before the cyclone hit, everybody came to the bottle shop to stock up on their alcohol haha because that's what people do in Onslow if there's a Cyclone: Cyclone parties!!! It felt like christmas, everyone was excited and they had a few days off of work so they came to the pub to party untill we had to shut the doors. All the shops and even the pub had to shut down. The cyclone hit around midnight and they announced it to be category 3, so it was a bit worse than expected, but to be honest I just slept through it. I went to bed and fell asleep. I woke up every hour to check if the roof didn't blow off or if my room didn't leak, which it did tho. Haha water was coming from the sealing and at the point the cyclone was at it's worst I had to move my bed, because the rain was splashing in my face. But nothing bad happened. The next day the cyclone was pretty much gone and we opened the pub again. A lot of people still had a few days off so it was busy at the pub and that was it. That was the cyclone and everything went back to normal again. And really that was the most exciting thing that happened the last few weeks. Haha.

So now it's time to make new plans and that makes me really happy! Leaving Onslow was a good thing. I'm in Perth, staying with my friend Recha and it's so good to see her again and just hang out for a few days. I definitely wanna find a new job, maybe here in Perth or maybe somewhere in the outback again. I've got 3 months before my new travelplans start. In June my girl Tanya will fly to Asia and I'll meet her there to travel together for a month. I'll fly back to Australia in July/august to travel/work for another 2/3 months. Then I'll meet my lovely sister in Indonesia to travel there until she'll kidnap me and take me back to the Netherlands, just to stop for a few weeks tho, spend x-mas and newyears home, before I fly to South-America!!! Can't believe this is gonna be my year, it's still so far away, but it's sounds amazing (not bragging, just excited)
