holaaa amigosss!

I arrived in Panama after a long long flight!! I got picked up by a driver from the hostel, so I didn't have to worry about finding a bus or taxi in the middle of the night. I got to the hostel around 12.30am, but the people in my dorm were still up, so we chatted a little bit! I met Sophia a girl from Austria and her boyfriend David from Italy. David didn't speak English so I had to switch to Spanish right away, which was really nice actually! In the morning we went for breakfast and walked up the Ancón hill where we had an awesome view over the city and the ocean! After that we walked around the old colonial area Casco Viejo and had lunch at this nice seafood market where all the locals were enjoying their weekend!! Casco Viejo was really nice, beautiful cenery and colonian architecture, but after walking all day we needed to go back to the hostel and chill a little bit. Panama is pretty expensive, dinner is between $14 and $20, so that's European prices and the food doesn't seem very special either. Just burgers and seafood. We decided to make tortilla's ourselfs, so we bought ingredients and had a nice dinner at the hostel with some beers. Someone told me that Panama city is a good city to party and dance salso so we went to some bars and danced all night! We ended up at a rooftop party, watching the stars and the citylights.
The next morning I woke up around 7am (1pm in NL) so I only slept for 3 hours, but I was awake and wanted to leave the city to go to the caribbean coast. But first I had to meet up with Camille en Christoph, whom I met in Nicaragua last year! They've been travelling for a year and ending their trip here, so I'm glad I got to see them and hang out with them.

The people here are very friendly and interested in travelers. But sometimes they ask me really weird question, like what I paid for my flight??? Why would they wanna know? And the other day this kid started asking about my passport, don't know why, but I just pretended I didn't understand. No comprendo, no comprendo! Haha sometimes it better to just play stupid!
So around noon I packed my bags and left for Portobelo. I got on a bus and another bus and another bus. The last one was so full, there was only space for one cheek and I had both my backpacks on my lap. But I was determind to get to Portobelo on my own and not taking the shuttle service they offered at the hostel haha! The shuttle was $20 and the bus not even $5, so yeah...
But it was so worth it, Portobelo is very nice. Its a little port town in a bay on the caribbean coast. It has a lot history and is on the UNESCO World haritage list. It feel like the set of pirates of the caribbean! I love it! A lot of ruins of forts and old canons and it has a beach and the ocean, so that's all I need. From Portobelo I taking a sailboat to Colombia that leaves this afternoon. We'll be sailing 3 days around the San Blas Islands and  2 days on open sea to Cartagena, Colombia. I already met a guy from Colombia who lives in New York, who's on the same boat as me, so that's a lot of fun!
I'm excited to go to Colombia, everyone I talked to who's been to Colombia is sooo positive about the Country and the people!
So I'll be offline for the next few days, so I'll check in when I arrived in Colombia! Adiosssss gentes!
